Mille Miglia
by Luciano Vittori
The legendary racing cars of the Mille Miglia, weathered into fresco against the stone rooftops of a Tuscan town.

From the mountains of Tuscany · Anno 2019
Classical painting, weathered into age-old fresco.
The origin
What is more Italian
than the fresco?
A legacy of painting, brought back to life.
In 2019, high in the mountains of beautiful Tuscany, master painter Luciano Vittori was met with a reproach. His classic Mille Miglia cars were painted impeccably — yet beyond the region there was little that felt unique, little that was truly Italian about his work.
Together with his daughter Elena — a gifted animal painter, celebrated for the soul in her speaking eyes — he set out to answer it. After a long search, the answer met the question itself: what, in all of painting, is more Italian than the fresco?
They began to experiment, working their paintings as if they were age-old frescoes: cracked plaster, a weathered surface, the patina of centuries. It struck a chord with a wide Italian audience. With this site we introduce this legacy of painting to the whole world — which we proudly call Heritage Fresco.
Years later, on a walking holiday in these same mountains, the Dutch painter Marion van den Ende found her way to their door. She stayed to learn — first as their apprentice, now as the ambassador who carries Heritage Fresco to the rest of the world.

Cars

Iconic classic cars portrayed in the land that made them — the Ford GT40 at Tower Bridge, the Citroën before the Eiffel Tower.
Commissions
All three artists also create exclusive works on commission. A cherished person, a beloved animal, a car with a story — Luciano, Elena and Marion turn it into a unique Heritage Fresco, weathered as though it has hung for centuries. Every commission is one of a kind.

These portraits of Marion's own dogs, Rico and Durack, were painted by Elena — not for sale, but proof of what a commission can be.
The method
It all begins with a masterful painting: a classic car, an animal with soul, a speaking face — painted by hand and with true craftsmanship.
The image is then worked as if it has existed for centuries: cracked plaster, weathered stone, a woven surface. The legacy of the Italian fresco.
Finally, time does its work. Cracks and weave fuse subject and surface into a single memory. The image becomes a relic.
The artists
Two Italian painters and their Dutch apprentice — three hands bound not by blood, but by a single devotion: to let the present be carried by the patina of the past.

Collect
Every work is printed on Hahnemühle fine-art paper and mounted on Dibond — a museum-grade aluminium support. Each in a strictly limited edition, numbered and certified.
Fine-art photo paper on aluminium: colourfast, perfectly flat and enduring — of museum quality.
Only 4 or 24 pieces per work. Once gone, gone for good.
Every piece is delivered with a numbered certificate of authenticity.
Recorded in the renowned MyArtRegistry.com, so provenance and ownership remain traceable.
Hahnemühle has made paper in Germany since 1584. Their fine-art papers are pure — 100% cotton rag, acid- and lignin-free — the same archival quality museums demand. It is this surface that holds the cracked plaster and weathered stone of a Heritage Fresco with the depth of a true painting.
Printed with pigment inks, the colours are certified lightfast for well over a century: the work you hang today will look the same for generations.
The print is then bonded to Dibond — two thin sheets of aluminium around a solid polyethylene core. It is the mounting standard of the world's museums and galleries: dead flat, rigid yet light, and unmoved by damp or changing temperature.
No glass, no frame required. The image floats as a single, seamless object — clean at the edge, and built to last a lifetime and beyond.
